Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag (or 1 tsp loose leaf Earl Grey tea)
  • 1 cup water
  • 45 fresh cherries (pitted and halved)
  • 1/2 cup milk (any type: dairy, almond, oat, etc.)
  • 12 tsp vanilla syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the fresh cherries with about 2 tablespoons of water. Simmer on low heat for 3-5 minutes until softened, mashing gently.
  2. While the cherries simmer, bring 1 cup of water to a boil and steep the Earl Grey tea for 3-5 minutes. Remove the tea bag or strain the leaves.
  3. Pour the milk into the saucepan with the cherries and heat gently until warmed through. Add the optional cinnamon stick if desired.
  4. Stir in vanilla syrup to sweeten according to your preference.
  5. Pour the brewed Earl Grey tea into a mug and strain the milk-cherry mixture over it while pressing on the cherries to extract all juices.
  6. Serve hot or allow to cool slightly before pouring over ice for an iced version.
