Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 8 oz linguine
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning (or to taste)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the linguine in salted boiling water until al dente, reserving some pasta water.
  2. Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides with Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and butter. Once hot, place the steak in the pan. Sear for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer if desired. Add minced garlic during the last minute for added flavor.
  4. Transfer the steak to a cutting board. Tent it with foil and let it rest while you make the sauce.
  5. In the same skillet used for the steak, melt 2 tbsp of butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Pour in heavy cream. Stir in cream cheese until melted and smooth.
  7. Add Parmesan, mozzarella, and Cajun seasoning to the mixture. Stir until melted, allowing it to thicken into a glossy sauce. If needed, add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
  8. Add cooked linguine into the sauce. Toss well to coat all strands evenly in that creamy goodness.
  9. Slice the rested steak against the grain into thick strips.
  10. Plate your creamy linguine first, then arrange slices of Cajun steak on top. Drizzle any remaining sauce over everything and garnish with chopped parsley.
