  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken thighs in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, bourbon, apple cider vinegar, garlic, honey, ginger, and red pepper flakes until combined.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours until the chicken is tender.
  5. Remove the chicken and shred it; return to the pot.
  6. Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry; stir into the sauce to thicken.
  7. Cook for another 5-10 minutes until thickened.
