  • 2 pounds lean ground beef (or ground turkey or chicken)
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons chili seasoning
  • 1 (15.5 oz) can dark red kidney beans (rinsed and drained)
  • 1 (15.5 oz) can light red kidney beans (rinsed and drained)

Instructions

  1. In a large non-stick skillet, brown the ground beef with diced onion over medium-high heat until fully cooked.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Transfer meat mixture to the slow cooker, draining excess grease if necessary.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, chili seasoning, and both cans of drained beans to the slow cooker.
  5. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 8–10 hours or on high for 4–5 hours.
