  • 6 ounces fresh mozzarella pearls
  • 1 demi baguette
  • ½ cup basil pesto
  • black gel food coloring
  • 12 ounces cherry tomatoes
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • red pepper flakes
  • fresh basil
  • balsamic glaze

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. 2. In a silicone skull mold on a baking sheet, fill with mozzarella pearls and bake for 6-7 minutes until melted; press into shape and cool.
  3. 3. Increase oven temperature to 475°F. Halve cherry tomatoes, place cut side down on parchment-lined sheet, drizzle with olive oil, season, and roast for 10-15 minutes until soft.
  4. 4. Toast baguette slices at 475°F for about 8-10 minutes.
  5. 5. Mix basil pesto with black gel food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  6. 6. Spread black pesto on toasted baguette slices, return to oven for another 8-10 minutes.
  7. 7. Top each slice with roasted tomatoes and mozzarella skulls; drizzle balsamic glaze before serving.
