  • 10 oz mushrooms (button or baby bella)
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • Garlic and various seasonings (salt, pepper, onion powder, mustard powder, dried thyme)

Instructions

  1. Clean and slice the mushrooms; mince the garlic.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper; cook on each side for about 5–7 minutes until golden brown. Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium, add butter and mushrooms; sauté until soft. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms; stir for about 1 minute. Gradually add beef broth while stirring until smooth.
  5. Add bouillon cube, soy sauce, onion powder, mustard powder, dried thyme, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  6. Mix cornstarch with water to make a slurry; slowly pour into skillet while stirring until thickened.
  7. Return chicken to skillet; cover and simmer for approximately 20 minutes until cooked through. Stir in heavy cream before serving.
