  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and butter a 9" deep-dish pie plate.
  2. Peel and slice the peaches; arrange them on a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, cream butter until smooth. Gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  5. Add egg, buttermilk, and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  6. Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients until just combined.
