  • 100 g butter
  • 120 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 roll of puff pastry

  2. Peel, core, and quarter the apples.
  3. In an ovenproof pan, melt butter and sugar over medium heat until golden caramel forms. Add vanilla extract and salt.
  4. Arrange apple quarters rounded side down in the caramel and cook for 10–15 minutes until slightly tender.
  5. Roll out puff pastry over the apples, tucking edges inside the pan.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
  7. Allow cooling for 5 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
